Tennessee softball’s Saviya Morgan enters transfer portal
Tennessee softball sophomore outfielder Saviya Morgan announced Wednesday she is entering the transfer portal, the program's first portal departure of the offseason following its WCWS semifinal run.
Tennessee softball received its first transfer notice from sophomore outfielder Saviya Morgan on Wednesday. Morgan, originally from Columbia, Tenn., where she starred at Columbia Central, played in 98 career games as a Lady Vol.
“I have decided to enter the transfer portal and explore what’s next in my softball journey,” Morgan said via social media. “Excited for what’s to come and thankful for my time in Tennessee that opened my eyes to what the future holds.”
Morgan started 59 of 62 games in the 2025 season as a freshman, where she hit .340, recorded 48 runs scored, 54 hits, 14 RBIs, and 25 stolen bases. On defense, she tallied 54 putouts.
However, in 2026, Morgan started just 10 games in 35 played. Seven of those starts came between the April 4 game of the South Carolina series and the Duke game on April 15. Outside her starts, she mostly saw time as a pinch runner.
For the season, Morgan slashed .293/.341/.383 with 10 runs scored, 12 hits, five RBIs and four stolen bases.
Morgan’s exit comes on the heels of a 2026 season that ended in the Women’s College World Series semifinals, where the Lady Vols fell to Texas one win short of the championship series.
