Freshman left-handed pitcher Kailey Plumlee announced her intention to enter the transfer portal on Wednesday via X, becoming the second Tennessee player to announce on the same day, following sophomore outfielder Saviya Morgan.
Coming out of Gordonsville High School (TN), Plumlee was a two-way threat, ranked the No. 22 player nationally and No. 2 in Tennessee, according to On3.
Plumlee was the Tennessee Softball Gatorade Player of the Year and named to the MaxPreps All-America Team in 2024. She finished high school with career stats of a .524 batting average, .611 on-base percentage, 212 hits, 42 home runs, 226 RBI and 112 runs scored.
In the circle, she pitched 585.2 innings with 1,372 strikeouts, an ERA of 1.45 and a .092 batting average against.
During her freshman season at Tennessee, Plumlee saw no time on the field, which allows her to keep all four years of eligibility. Plumlee now joins what looks like a growing list of Tennessee players weighing their next move as the transfer window opens.
