Tennessee softball will be without two assistant coaches from this past season’s staff. On Monday, the program and assistant coaches Craig Snider and Stephanie Sanders parted ways, first reported by D1Softball.
A Tennessee Athletics spokesperson confirmed to Southeastern Softball Wire that the decision was mutual. The Lady Vols are coming off their 10th Women’s College World Series appearance, where they fell to the eventual national champion Texas Longhorns in back-to-back games in the semifinal round.
Sanders and Snider began their time at Tennessee in June 2024 as assistant hitting coaches. During the 2025 season, the Lady Vols slashed .302/.511/.404 as a team with 79 doubles, 19 triples and 73 home runs. It marked the first time Tennessee hit over .300 since 2021, and the 19 triples tied the program record.
In the 2026 season, Tennessee finished with a slash line of .281/.385/.496. That is a noticeable drop-off from the season prior. The Lady Vols at times struggled to string together hits and left runners on base. However, with great pitching, they were able to outlast teams, and to the offense’s credit, came up with some timely hits as they did in the Super Regionals vs. Georgia.
