The transfer portal can be one of the most uncertain places in college athletics. Some players find a perfect fit fast. Others spend weeks not knowing where home will be. For Sydney Carroll, faith is exactly what carried her to Martin, Tennessee.
Carroll, a transfer from Mississippi State, is now a UT Martin Skyhawk, and she isn’t walking through the door quietly or feeling she is better than anyone. She is a 6-foot-2 first baseman, pitcher and power hitter who talks about her new program with real enthusiasm.
Carroll came to Martin to help build something, and she believes in it.
