Ella Dodge enters transfer portal, third Tennessee softball departure
Two-year starter Ella Dodge announced her transfer portal entry Saturday, becoming the third Tennessee softball player to leave the program.
Karen Weekly and the Tennessee softball program face another loss to the transfer portal. Ella Dodge, who was a two-year starter, announced her entry into the portal Saturday morning on X.
“I am thankful for my time at Tennessee, but after much thought and prayer, I have decided to enter the transfer portal with 2 years of eligibility,” Dodge said via social media.
The infielder just completed her redshirt sophomore season, where she slashed .275/.409/.545 with 11 home runs, 13 doubles and 46 RBIs with 11 stolen bases. Dodge started 113 of 120 games over two seasons and made some huge plays for the Lady Vols.
In the field, Dodge accumulated a .967 fielding percentage and recorded 144 putouts with 150 assists and 10 errors over those two seasons.
Dodge marks the third transfer exit for Tennessee, after outfielder Saviya Morgan and pitcher Kailey Plumlee.
