Laurin Krings to Philadelphia

Yesterday the University of Pennsylvania Quakers Softball and Head Coach Christie Novatin made public the hiring of Assistant Coach Laurin Krings. Krings is a current pitcher for the New York Rise pro softball team and a former Missouri Tiger.

As a Tiger, Krings pitched to a 57-34 record with a 2.79 ERA, .244 opponent batting average, and 599 strikeouts in 604.2 innings pitched over 136 appearances. She finished her great career ranked in the top 10 in Missouri’s history in appearances, innings pitched, strikeouts, and wins.

“I am thrilled to welcome Laurin to our Penn Softball family,” said Novatin. “As a proven competitor, she will bring meaningful connections and insight to our pitching staff. She leads with openness, enthusiasm, and a competitive spirit, which will be invaluable assets to our team. I look forward to the positive influence Laurin will have on our pitchers and their growth under her guidance.”

Krings herself is ready to make an immediate impact on the program. “I am incredibly excited to join the Penn program and to work alongside this group of women and staff,” said Krings. “This season is a great opportunity for growth, both individually and as a team. I’m looking forward to building strong relationships and helping each player reach their full potential on and off the field.”
