All-American Sage Mardjetko to anchor Tennessee staff again in 2027
Sage Mardjetko is staying on Rocky Top, returning to anchor the Tennessee staff alongside Erin Nuwer in 2027.

Karen Weekly and Tennessee softball will have one of their top arms back for the 2027 season in Sage Mardjetko.
Mardjetko posted on Instagram, “See you next year Rocky Top,” putting to rest any wonder if she would enter the transfer portal, after a few departures from the team.
For the 2026 season, Mardjetko finished 16-3 with 171 strikeouts to 44 walks, and a WHIP of 0.86. She also had the second-best opponent batting average of .147, and the fourth-best ERA in the country at 1.26. Mardjetko left 89.5 percent of runners on base, the second-highest mark in the country. Her trajectory shows steady improvement each season, leaving a possible best for last.
Mardjetko’s 2026 season earned her First Team All-SEC honors, SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, NFCA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region First Team and a trio of All-America nods: First Team from the NFCA and D1Softball, Second Team from Softball America.
Tennessee finished the 2026 season with the top pitching staff in the nation. The Lady Vols pitched to a 49-12 record with a 1.47 ERA, a 0.90 WHIP and a .154 opponent batting average.
Mardjetko will go into the 2027 season as the leader of the staff alongside Erin Nuwer.
