The transfer portal's top name is spoken for. Isa Torres, the D1Softball national player of the year, is taking her record-setting bat back home to Texas.
One of the top players in the transfer portal is off the board. Isa Torres is a Texas Longhorn after leaving Florida State, where she was a three-year starter. She started in all 175 games of her career in Tallahassee.
Torres, originally from Georgetown, Texas, will now play just 30 minutes or so from home.
“Full circle in the best way. #hookem,” Torres posted on X.
The D1Softball National Player of the Year, USA Softball National Player of the Year finalist and consensus All-American left Florida State with an amazing career: a .439/.484/.724 slash line with 34 home runs, 158 RBIs and 186 runs scored on 261 hits. Torres also grabbed 26 stolen bases.
2026 was the best yet, slashing .530/.591/.978 with 16 homers, 56 RBIs and 78 runs scored on 98 hits. She added 21 doubles, 7 triples and 13 stolen bases. Torres posted career highs in every category except RBIs, and set several program records.
Her work at shortstop was a constant for the Noles. Now she will play behind pitchers such as Teagan Kavan, Samantha Lincoln and Brenlee Gonzales, and bolster a Longhorn lineup that is coming off back-to-back national championships.
