Tracking AUSL Protected Players and Every Pick in the AUSL Draft

AUSL Protected Players

AUSL Protected Players and Draft Info with Tracker

AUSL Protected players for the current teams will be revealed over the next week ahead of the AUSL Expansion, which will take place on December 1 at 7:00 PM ET on ESPNU as part of the two part draft process that will conclude with the Allocation Draft.

The expansion portion of the draft will feature Cascade and the Oklahoma City Spark alternating picks in a snake format, selecting from the pool of players who are not protected. A simple coin toss will determine which team picks first.

According to the AUSL, each expansion team will select five players, with no more than three coming from the same original roster within the first ten picks. After that opening stretch, the draft can move into as many as three additional rounds. Before each round begins, original teams will have the chance to add a player to their protected list.

There are a few minimum guidelines in place. Expansion teams can decide to stop drafting once they reach six players. Original teams can also stop protecting once every expansion roster reaches that six player mark. In total, an original team can lose up to five athletes through the process.

After the expansion part of the draft is done, the Allocation part will begin with all six teams selecting players that are not on a current AUSL roster.

Here you will be able to find our AUSL protected player tracker, and on draft night we will also keep track of the draft picks in the same spot.

AUSL Expansion and Allocation Draft Central

Monday December 1, 2025

Tonight is what we have all been waiting for. The AUSL Draft arrives with both the Expansion and Allocation phases of the draft ready to shape the rosters for the 2026 season. The OKC Spark will open the night with the first overall pick, followed by the Cascade as both new franchises begin to build their identities.

Once the expansion portion wraps, the allocation rounds will begin, where rosters across the league will truly take form for the 2026 season. This is the moment every returning team has prepared for, and the night where we finally start to see what the next season of the AUSL will look like.
