Morgan Zerkle is one of the veterans in softball who just continuously works. On Saturday night, Zerkle notched a couple of hits and became the all-time hits leader in AUSL All-Star Cup history. Her 93 career hits in this model passed Victoria Hayward’s 92, which were accumulated over the 2020 to 2025 seasons. Hayward retired after the 2025 All-Star Cup.
Zerkle went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, the 22nd multi-hit game of her All-Star Cup career. She secured the 10th game MVP award of her career, claiming MVP 2 with 80 leaderboard points.
In the All-Star Cup model, the point system is the main focus. But if you are looking for players who have performed well in a traditional sense, Zerkle is one of them. Pitching has been phenomenal in the 2026 AUSL All-Star Cup, so finding hitters who have been consistent is not widespread.
Zerkle is one of the four players, with 16 or more at-bats, who are hitting .300 or better. She recorded hits in six of eight All-Star Cup games. Her three RBIs also rank fifth. Zerkle probably had no clue about any of this. As Eric Collins said on the broadcast, “She is a gamer, not a stat rat. She just wants to play.”
