The Athletes Unlimited Softball League postseason is now set. With the Carolina Blaze’s win over the Oklahoma City Spark Tuesday morning, after Monday’s weather suspension, the Portland Cascade punched their ticket as the No. 3 seed.
Portland will take on the Chicago Bandits in the AUSL play-in game on Thursday at Davis Diamond in College Station, Texas, at 9 p.m. EDT / 8 p.m. CDT on ESPN. The Bandits lost to the Utah Talons on Sunday night with the No. 1 seed on the line, 3-1, which sealed their finish as the No. 2 seed.
During the regular season, the Bandits and Cascade met, and Chicago took the season series four games to one. However, none of that matters as this is a win-and-move-on scenario. Whoever brings their best game Thursday night will move on to the best-of-three championship series against the Talons.
